BFWWC has come and gone

Another BFW is over. Here are a few updates. After going through an airport metal detector and having the batteries removed for an hour during my flight, my phone is working again. Kelly made her flight after skipping to the front of the line at security and running to her gate. I'm assuming that Sarah and Sophie arrived home safely since I did not hear about any plane crashes yesterday. And just so that we know all is right with the world, I returned home to my parents' house on Sunday to find that my mom had been experimenting with a new paint color in the hallway. She has painted a 4-inch strip along the baseboards and doorjambs up to about eye level. That makes three different colors of paint in the hallway - white, pale yellow, and gray.

We owe a huge thank you to the Michels for hosting us and letting us hang out with their adorable children.

I just finished watching the new Pride and Prejudice. I had a hard time getting past Keira Knightley (generally, I am not a fan), and no one does Mr. Darcy like Colin Firth, but it certainly had me hooked by the end.

Yes, Soph and I made it home safely, and with (surprisingly) my sanity in tact. I had the ingenious idea of putting Sophie in the Baby Bjorn for the portion of the flight that she was awake, which helped me tremendously. She is now lying in bed debating the necessity of nap time. Two days later I am still unpacking, but that's just how it goes, I guess.

Sorry, one more thing. My Mary Engelbreit calendar quote (from Dr. Seuss) for this month says, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Quite appropos, I think.

I still carry the remnants of the trip with me. I believe that our dear hosts' children have infected me with some horrible cold. So everytime I sneeze or cough, I am reminded of BFWWC.
