By request, more from Florida...

Check out our Florida pictures on our Flickr gallery.

Also, Megan, to answer your question on behalf of Kelly, she's in Europe. If she gets a chance, she said she'd try to post sometime during her trip.

Where I Am...

Megan, to answer the question posed in your post title, I am in FLORIDA! We're enjoying our annual trip to St. George Island.

Here's our house. It's called Starry Night.

Here's the view from the back of our house facing the bay.

Dinner Saturday night at Harry A's. Not sure of the purpose of the giant menus.

Base camp. This is the view from the front our house facing the gulf.

More later, but for now I have to go enjoy my vacation! Jeremy & Shannon, I hope this is enticing you to join us tomorrow. Show these to the doctor and explain how relaxing it is and I'm sure she'll say a dose of St. George is just what Sparky needs.

Back to Reality

Here are some final pictures from Florida. We're leaving to drive back in 5 hours.
^ This is a reenactment of when I got pinched by a crab. No crabs were hurt in the making of this picture. I found the crab claw on the beach.

^ Jeff (the human) and Tessa (the dog) kayaking. Tessa wasn't so excited about it but she was a good sport.

^ The top of one of my hands and the palm of the other. They tell me I'm tan.

^ Me and Jon on our boardwalk.

^ Me and Jon further down on our boardwalk.

^ The 7 of us at our final dinner of the vacation at the Blue Parrot here on the island.

See you later, alligator.

So it turns out that we have wi-fi at our house. That's not entirely accurate. The house next door has wi-fi which we are borrowing. Yesterday the Gulf was almost completely flat which made for great wildlife spotting. We saw dolphins swimming back and forth continuously all day, a jellyfish, several crabs of various sizes, a stingray, a parrot on a stick, lots of fish (including, from what I can tell, a mackerel and a black drum), and upclose and personal - an alligator.

^ Jon and his dolphin friends

^ Parrot on a stick

^ After the fire...on the drive down near Tyndall AFB.

^ Our house (far left) and base camp.

^ In Apalachicola

^ Jeff & Amie with our alligator in between them in the background. I took a lot of pictures of him but they were all somewhat blurry due to the lighting and the fact that my hand was shaking. I should explain that we had followed him along the banks of the Apalachicola River hoping to get a better view. All of the sudden he turned and started heading right for us. He stayed in the water but did give us a scare when he snapped. There wasn't much between us and him, just about 6 feet of rocks leading up from the water to the sidewalk. It would have been difficult for him to make it up, but I think he could've done it.
