I don’t really like this Claim to Lame thing. I work hard at forgetting those types of moments. I will own up to this one, although it isn’t a new confession to the members of this blog. Back in the day, my brother and I owned the DC Talk video “Rap, Rock, and Soul.” We would watch it almost every day after school and had the entire thing memorized word for word – songs and interviews.
Over the weekend I bought 15 new books. I work at a bookstore and yet every time I go out of town I feel the need to visit other bookstores. I especially enjoy comparing other Borders stores to my own. Anyway, in Madison this past weekend I visited at least 6 bookstores in a 3-day span. If you are ever in Madison, the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store on Williamson has the best thrift store book section I've ever seen. I picked up two more Kate DiCamillo books, The Tale of Despereaux and Because of Winn-Dixie. Both are charming. I wish I would have had a list of my Babysitters Club books with me - every one of the used bookstores I went into had a good collection of them and I would have loved to fill out of my set. We get people in the store all the time asking for the BSC, but of course they've been out of print for a while. However, check out this interesting new thing I discovered at work last night. The BSC has just been graphic-novelized. (I stole that word from an Amazon reviewer - just couldn't help myself.) After all of these years, I didn't need any help identifying the 4 main characters on the cover.

Apparently I'm moving up in the world. Tomorrow, I move from an 8' by 6' cubicle to a huge corner office. Okay, so I'm sharing the office with a coworker, but it is most definitely an improvement.

I used to think you were a bibliophile, but now I think it's verging on bibliomania. It would be interesting to tally the percentage of your budget that goes to books.
oh and my friends and I used to do the same thing- except ours was NKOTB. I think the lameness is roughly equal.
