Beverly Lewis

Went to see Beverly Lewis at a book signing on Wednesday. She was so sweet. I felt bad for her because I don't think the Christian bookstore did much to promote the event. On top of that, the weather was horrendous that afternoon so the turnout was terrible. When I walked into the store, I thought she must have already left because there were so few people there. I don't get exactly star struck around people like this but I get a bit tongue-tied. I don't want to say anything stupid and I want to say something intelligent about the person's work. It never turns out that way though, I always sound silly. Anyway, it was great to add another signed book to my library and like I said, she was delightful. For those of you not familiar with Beverly's books, I recommend the Abram's Daughter series. Beverly does a great cliffhanger.

Speaking of other favorite authors, Lauren Winner seems to be making the Christian college tour lately. She has visited Calvin, John Brown, and Taylor, and she'll finally make an appearance at Wheaton on September 8 and 9.

Looking at this picture, I think it is time to cut my hair just a little bit. If they wouldn't annoy me after 2 weeks, I'd probably even get some bangs.

I revoke my original comment then. I agree with the bangs issue. They're fun but then a pain to grow out. If only you could get semipermanent bangs like you can with hair dye.

Clip on bangs, maybe?
