Eat your hearts out

Thanksgiving has come early to St. Louis. We may have mean, drunk, bad drivers, but at least we have cheap gas. I paid $1.99/gallon this morning, which was 4 cents cheaper than last night. While I am on the subject, I would like to say that I love the way the people that work at QT always say, "see you next time." It is friendly and confident. And it is true, I always go back.

A few weeks ago, the editor of Radiant magazine blogged about a girls' trip she had taken to Savannah with several of her coworkers. At the end, she asked for readers input about their own trips and traditions. I responded and here's the link:

I was thrilled with $2.38 the other day. Then, perversely, it annoyed me when prices went down to $2.34. Am I that competitive that I'm willing to pay more in gas later, just so I can feel proud that I paid less now?? I really am a sick puppy.

No, that's how we act here too. Why pay $2.16 today when you know if you want just one more day it will probably go down another 2 cents. At most it saves 50 cents for my parents van or Jon's truck, and a measly 24 cents on my little Civic. It is pathetic, but you're not alone.
